# How do I set up IAM access policies and roles?

Create access policies on the [Access Policies page](https://console.coreweave.com/organization/iam/access-policies) in the Cloud Console. Each policy contains one or more rules. Each rule assigns a role (such as `Observability Viewer` or `Object Storage Admin`) to a principal (a user or a group). CoreWeave IAM operates on a default-deny posture, so a principal has no permissions until a policy grants them.
