# March 10, 2026 - Spot Node Pools and Capacity plans

> Spot Node Pools now available in CKS, providing preemptible pay-as-you-go access to unused compute capacity

**Spot Node Pools are now available in CKS,** providing pay-as-you-go access to high-performance compute resources without long-term commitments or reservations.

## Spot Node Pools

[Spot Node Pools](/platform/capacity-plans/spot-node-pools) provide access to unused CoreWeave capacity. Instances in a Spot Node Pool are identical to standard Node Pool instances in hardware and performance, but operate on a preemptible basis, CoreWeave may reclaim them when capacity is needed elsewhere.

Spot Node Pools are well suited for fault-tolerant and stateless workloads like AI inference that can tolerate interruption.
