# June 29, 2026 - Default access policies in IAM

> CoreWeave-managed default policies now define baseline Admin and Viewer access

CoreWeave IAM now includes CoreWeave-managed default access policies that simplify baseline access management for every organization.

## Overview

The Cloud Console labels CoreWeave-managed policies with a **Default** badge. Default policies are designed to reduce policy drift as the platform evolves:

* CoreWeave manages role membership in default policies and keeps them current as roles change.
* You manage which principals are assigned to those policies.
* Default policies cannot be deleted.

This model helps keep common role bundles up to date without requiring administrators to repeatedly edit policy definitions.
